Fortescue have officially opened its 40 million tonne per year Kings Valley Iron ore mine in the Pilbara. Kings Valley is the second mine at FMG’s Solomon Hub to be opened, after Firetail one year ago.
EnerMech became involved in the Fortescue Metals Group, Solomon Project in early stages of construction. Since then, we have provided both management and operational support across a number of sites.
We provided a unique service to the client in order to meet the stringent project deadlines with the completions and commissioning of the three 132kv to 33kv substations.
Upon completion of the construction phase of the project, EnerMech have continued with the High Voltage Operations work, providing preventative and reactive maintenance within the substations.
Due to the high quality of our Operators, Engineers, Management and our impeccable safety record, FMG then engaged EnerMech to expand our scope and awarded the testing, commissioning and initial energisations of the Kings OPF, Firetail OPF and Kings Crushing hubs. Each of these areas contain over 20 switch rooms, 60 transformers and 11 RMU’s. This work was completed on schedule and without incident.
Our High Voltage Operations teams have been appointed to switch across all High Voltage areas onsite. EnerMech has been instrumental in the development of the maintenance management and record keeping systems across the Solomon site. Our professional service and the high quality of staff have been recognised by the client and a long relationship has ensued.
Due to our extensive list of specialised personnel FMG has continued to engage EnerMech in critical path shutdown works, most recently, for the re-termination of a Stacker trailing cable and Christmas Creek Shutdowns. In continuing to meet these targets it further cements our role onsite and we are proud to be an integral part of the Fortescue team.
